15 Dec: How to be special marketer?

Marketing is not a skill that people are born with. Part of this lies in the fact that the skills that make a “successful marketer” are constantly evolving. So let's say, welcome to the new world of marketing where old models don’t work and everything is fair game. Develop these skills or tips to leave the outdated marketing practices behind, build a strong foundation for your marketing and be on top of this new game. 1- Listen more, talk less: Marketers need to listen more, much more Spend a day in the life of the customer if you can. If not, have one-on-one conversations to understand their challenges and the opportunities. Know what your brand can take part in their life and help them 2- Don’t focus only on competition from the same industry: The competition for an existing product or brand can come from a totally unexpected industry vertical. The greatest threat the camera industry faced was not from within itself but by the development of smart mobile phones that has a variety of features including high-resolution cameras and supporting such apps as Whatsapp or Bluetooth to transmit the images and video depending on the size and resolution. 3- Strategy: There are so many different channels marketers can use today and so many different forms of content they can produce for those channels. However, marketers also needs to be even more strategic on where they spend their time and resources. Marketing is no longer just about advertising, it’s also about driving business growth by making sure you ask the right questions and then being able to take the answers to solve problems quickly. 4- Analytics: Studies have shown that a large number of successful marketing managers focus on analytics throughout the day. The key is paying close attention to exactly what that data is telling you. Data can provide extensive insight into customer behavior and the effectiveness of marketing efforts.

15 Dec: Word of Mouth Marketing

Do you remember the last time you shared your good or bad experience with your friends through social media? Do you know the power of the word of mouth? The word of mouth whether it's online or offline, impacts every business and organization, and it's considered the oldest form of recommendation. It may be more important than ever. According to recent study, 92% of consumers believe recommendations from friends and family over all forms of advertising. 64% of marketing executives indicated that they believe word of mouth is the most effective form of marketing. Think of the snowball effect, you start off with a small, interesting post on Facebook. That post impresses a couple people, then those people spread the word. So, how could you use the WOMM? Sure you might have millions of social media followers, but you have to establish connection with those users to generate benefits. If your audience is not interested in you, they're not likely to help you grow. They're collecting dust and clogging your real fan base. Here are 3 tips to help maximize your WOM potential: 1. Make Yourself Interesting: Share what makes you look fun/good/interesting. This will promote sharing. Consumers feel more confident in the information they're sharing when it's something that worth talking about. 2. Go above and beyond for the customer: It’s about being in the mindset of striving for excellence in every situation and always putting the customer first. 3. Provide value: If you establish yourself with a few people, they'll share the experience with friends - you may not remember the last time you shared a bad restaurant or service with someone, but you'll no doubt be able to remember an amazing experience or event. Sharing valuable information makes you valuable. Great, unique customer experiences, along with having a great product, can help increase your value.

15 Dec: Who killed Nokia?!

Believe it or not! The one who killed Nokia is Nokia! Nokia was not telecommunications or Electronics Company, It started in 1865 with wood and paper manufacturing. After the World War II it started getting into the field of telecommunications or electronics. They produced their first mobile phone in the late 1980s, they became the most famous company and their phones used to be sold all over the world, despite the presence of a great competitor such as Motorolla which was in control of the US market. But Nokia was still the favorite brand for the rest of the consumers all over the world. Nokia became the pioneer in the mobile market with the bestselling, but in the next five years those phones suffered from some issues, which made the throne of the giant company in the market vibrate for the first time. When Apple announced releasing the iPhone for the first time with the concept of smart phones, Nokia failed to make their phones comparable to the iPhone in its capabilities and features and they didn't even solve the issues that had appeared in its phones. The emergence of Samsung and its entry into the smart phone industry confused Nokia because Samsung did not start from scratch but tried to start from where Nokia ended, and nevertheless Nokia didn't even try to change its policy - When Nokia woke up from its coma, it tried to restructure its management in an attempt to keep pace with the market, but did not achieve results because of the decline in the share price of Nokia to less than 4$ Nobody killed Nokia! Nokia Killed itself when it decided to stuck to its windows operating system even after noticing its inability to compete with Android and iPhone. In the end the CEO of Nokia said "the company had stopped its activity and sold it to Microsoft and ended completely". You will not only fail when you make mistakes, but you will fail once you stop following consumer requirements and ignore following your competitors or trying to catch up with them In other words, you won't lose the race only if you moved few steps back, but also lose if you stopped running forward.

12 Dec: The History of Marketing

There is no doubt that marketing has become one of the strongest and most widespread fields in the recent period. But let us know at first what is marketing? Marketing is how you can encourage people to buy your product, meeting customer's needs and convince them that your brand is the best and help them to buy it. Marketing didn't become one of the most important fields suddenly! But it went through some steps of development that we will talk about it now. The era of simple trade: In the early nineteenth century, there was no need for marketing because manufacturing was as much as needed, i.e., if one needed a dress, she would have customize it for herself or get a tailor to make it especially for her. Thus, there was no surplus for marketing and there was no need between consumers because their manufacturing covered their needs. With the onset of the Industrial Revolution, manufacturers became more companies than consumers, and thus began exchanging. The era of sales marketing: This type of marketing has emerged as a result of increased production rates, and supply has become more than demand rates, so they began to expand the scope of sales to become globally instead of locally Modern marketing era: Technological development has led to the emergence of new products which became more demanded than the ones that have spread earlier, and thus companies began to depend on the production of what can be sold, or produce the product required by the consumer. This era is one of the most balanced eras, and ads that vary in form and content depending on the nature of each product started to appear Digital Marketing: The latest development step is (digital marketing) This kind is fully dependent on internet marketing and unlike all the stages we have explained, it allows the product to reach anywhere and anyone easily and quickly Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram started to be used. And despite the difference in the form, content and tools of promotion in each platform, they all pursue the same goal of promoting the product more and achieving higher sales

12 Dec: Instagram tests hiding likes numbers in posts

After Instagram said last week that it would start hiding likes number on pictures, a lot of reactions have surfaced like confusion, animosity and excitement. Instagram announced on Twitter that it would test this out on a larger scale. It is a controversial change, and the company claims that the comments it received in the markets were positive. According to Instagram, “While the feedback from the initial tests in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan and New Zealand is positive, this change is fundamental in Instagram, so we continue our testing to learn more.” In addition, we understand that the number of likes is important to many creators, and we are constantly thinking about a way to communicate the value of creators to their partners. Head of Instagram, said it's all about changing how people, especially young users think about social media platforms. Facebook said the Instagram test was meant to "remove the pressure of how many likes a post will receive" on Instagram. However, you'll still be able to see how many people have liked your own photos According to news from Instagram, hiding likes might increase the focus on the content of users rather than seeking for increasing likes to attract the attention of others.
